Weaving Working

Turn rods of hazel, willow or dogwood, harvested from hedgerows, coppice or even garden pruning into a beautiful woven shallow basket.

This is a lovely beginner weavers project, suitable for older children, teenagers and adults.

What you need

• 40 rods (no thicker than 1cm diameter and 120 - 200cm in length)
• Secateurs (good quality, sharp, bypass style are best)
• Loppers
• String
• Tape measure
• Good sized work surface or cleared floor space
• Dust sheet for catching the trimmings
