About the Event

During this event Chris will be teaching us how to whittle a small mushroom - perfect for a keyring. If you would like to join him in this activity, you will need the following materials and equipment to hand:

Your favourite whittling knife

  • A Laplander type folding saw
  • Wood to whittle - something nice and straight grained, 25 to 30mm in diameter and 30 to 60cm long. Anything deciduous will do but something easy to work like Willow, Sycamore or Birch is good. If it's green all the better, easier to work. Look out for Birch and Ash that have been felled on your walks and snag a piece.
  • If you have them, small screw in key rings.
